About LIFE
LIFE is a weekend of nightlife and cultural events, in collaboration with Southern Maine Pride, to benefit Maine AIDS Alliance and the Maine HIV community. LIFE raises awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS while celebrating with our friends. Join us for our 3rd annual nightlife events featuring nationally renowned DJs and entertainment which coincide with the Southern Maine Pride parade and festival.
LIFE 2011 Theme
Join us as we “Fast forward to a future without AIDS”, LIFE’s 2011 theme. It’s been nearly three decades since HIV first appeared in Maine and today an estimated 1,600 people are living with HIV/AIDS in our state. This year LIFE goes warp speed to the future – a future where there are zero new HIV infections and everyone can lead healthy and happy lives. Help us make this future possible by advocating, volunteering, and donating today.
Maine AIDS Alliance
LIFE aims to raise money to support the Maine AIDS Alliance (MAA) in its mission to advocate for, support, educate, and inform its members and people affected by and/or at risk of HIV/AIDS. MAA serves as Maine’s primary advocacy and lobbying organization for effective HIV/AIDS policy and prevention and care funding. Additionally, MAA works collaboratively within the community to promote HIV awareness and address statewide hurdles in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This year’s LIFE proceeds will help fund a statewide study of HIV services and engage a vast range of stakeholders in developing a plan to end AIDS in Maine.
